She may be cute...

I know this isn't the most flattering picture of Riley, but it made me laugh because it looks like she's trying to make one of those crooked lip smile things that all the teenie boppers do for pictures now! Anyway, my little angelic baby girl was out and about with me the other day and she wanted me to make ramen noodles for her for dinner. I told her that I was making dinner, and that it was definately not ramen noodles, but she could make herself some. She harumphed (it may not be a word, but you mom's know what sound I'm talking about) and told me "I think you should have to make everyone's dinner!" My mean mother response: "I do, and if you choose not to eat it...make your own!"

Saftey Knobs, Moms Best Friend!

I was visiting Kara yesterday, well I was really stopping by to hold Addison and get my baby fix for the week! Is that wrong? And she reminded me about my best parenting find ever! Safety Knobs! So many of you moms fret or fretted about how to get you toddler to stay in the big boy/girl bed. I was blessed with 3 girls that did this on their own, no problems! Then along comes Brayden, the world is his playground! It was completely brilliant of God to give me the idea to use those safety covers on the inside of his door! At first it seemed a little cruel, but so is holding the door knob from the other side and playing tug of war. Or the worst sin of all, crawling into their bed until they fall asleep! Don't tell me if you did this unless they were sick! This way you can relax! Kids are smart and catch on fast...before you know it they will stay in their beds with the door open! If they don't, start closing it again! Just remember to open it when they fall asleep!

I am so mean...

Has anyone ever told you they hated you 3 times within a 15, no make it, 10 minute time period? I am sure that if you are the mother of any child relatively close to being a teenager this is not that shocking to you! This is what happened to me tonight when I asked my 14 year old daughter to leave the dinner table if she could not be nice. It took 3 tries, but she finally got to finish her dinner. I think that there should be cameras in every house that start recording whenever your child has a melt down. Think about how much fun you can have posting those videos on your blog and facebook where their friends and your whole family can see the reason you have grey hair! That would be awesome...I told you I'm a mean mom!
